easily movable blocks with magic

i have an idea....why doesnt mojang make a way to move the blocks that you select with nether-stars or somin? okay, im not suggesting that we take away flying machines but to instead make it easier to move blocks...here is what i mean, lets say you have a 12 by 12 platform and you want to move everything on it, then what you can do is put a block(or place blocks) in the center or somewhere that turn the whole platform and everything on it into an entity. what about redstone then? any redstone is the way it is and can run(somehow) from a command interface on one of the blocks...now its not OP because that interface only provides power to the components...so if you for instance want to shoot firechargers at something then you need redstone wiring, dispensers, firechargers and what you would originally need...just that its on a moving platform.
