Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

The bug net

Like how you can catch fish in buckets and release them without the worry of them despawning, what if there was a bug net item that could catch bugs like butterflys and lightning bugs, and they won't despawn after their release, it would be a cool way to add to more nature themed builds. Also putting a bug in a bottle would be cool.

    This would be really cool! Bugs in Minecraft is a pretty awesome concept, and a net would be a great base for the addition of a bunch of friendly bugs in the future. I love bugs, so maybe this comment is a little biased, but bugs would add a lot to the immersive feeling in Minecraft.  A lightning bug in a bottle and some other bugs would be a fun way to light up a room.

    Would be useful for transporting the new bees, since they always spawn more than a day's hike away from wherever it is you set up shop, and abandon their nests periodically.

    Maybe make it function with ender mites and silverfish too.

    Really like this idea.Could collect bats and bees but also add butterflies who maybe allow you to craft something like a Banner or something
    Bugs that teach you a recipie to dig quicker

    I would like to expand on this idea because I have been thinking about it a lot since the announcement of the lightning bugs! So what I'm thinking is, when you left click while holding the net, it would pick up the bug. And you could do this and collect a bunch of bugs with the net. It would act kind of like the bundle as it will carry the bugs. And then you can right click to release them all at once in a spot. If you didn't want to release all of them, that's easy, just net up the ones you didn't want to release up again. I was thinking that you could net up fireflies and butterflies and other small bugs with the net.
