Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

    Glistering melons are just melons with gold shoved into them so I don't think it's that healthy

    yes it should definitely only give a half a heart  separate from saturation regeneration though.

    But it should be instant health after eating it, just like the instant health potion it's used in.

    I was about to make a post about this and then it showed your post, I think this is a great idea, it makes perfect sense, however I think that one slice should only restore 1-2 health points. I remember before the hunger bar was in the game eating food would directly heal you and I think this would be a great way to remember how things used to be.

    water melons don't give very much hunger already so I think it would make sense if it actually gave you none at all only regenerate like half a heart because it can stack maybe even less like it could have a small chance to regenerate half a heart and give no hunger, which would give people a good reason to turn them into instant health potions instead of it's still leaves the option to open.
