This suggestion only makes sense if this suggestion is implemented:
The natural way one would want to display a list of votes in such a page would be in chronological order. This has the drawback that certain posts which a user would want to check on frequently could get lost among others they don't care as much about further along in their list of votes, possibly hidden behind paging of results, requiring more time and clicks to find those few frequently-accessed posts.
In this post, I am suggesting the default sort order on this hypothetical "My Votes" page be based on a user-assigned priority to each one of their votes hey have cast. To clarify what this priority would mean, consider that I vote for four topics. I might feel that one of them is a high priority suggestion, another is also a high priority, but is not as much of a priority as the first, and the final two are features I would like to see implemented one day, but only after the first and second suggestions are seriously considered. On the "My Votes" page, you could indicate this by assigning priority 1 to the first item, 2 to the second, and 3 and 4 to the other two items in any order. A visual way to imagine this is to have your list of votes going down the page vertically, and you have the ability to drag-and-drop them to change the order, so priority 1 is at the top, and priority 4 is at the bottom.
Stated simply, the single suggestion in this post is the ability for a user to change the sort order of each vote they have cast via their "My Votes" page, which is a non-existent page who's definition is linked to above. I am using the name "priority" to refer to the variable that controls sort order.
This feature would be useful for two main reasons:
- When accessing the "My Votes" page, the topics that are most important for the user would appear to them first, because of how their highest priority votes would be sorted near the top.
- The priority of votes could be processed to add a second metric (the first being the votes themselves) to indicate how popular a suggestion is. (see https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360043340752-Vote-Priority-as-a-Second-Feedback-Metric)
