Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Horizontally-Placed Maps!

Maps are a fantastic tool in the game, but man they could use some new features. I love making map walls in my house, but I can only go so big like that before I can’t tell any details. What about making the maps (and corresponding item frames) placeable on flat surfaces like a table (sorta like the map room in the woodland mansions). That way you could make them much bigger and really map things out. They also could definitely use some way to mark waypoints/locations on the map for villages or things you want to remember. Let me know what you think!

    If there’s a way to place either an item frame or map piece horizontally on a surface in vanilla Minecraft, I can’t find it.

    As for marking locations on the map, that feature already exists.  You just need to create a banner, name it at an anvil, place it at the target location, then “use” the map on it.  I’ve done this quite extensively in my world and have dozens of markers on my map wall.
