In Minecraft survival mode the only way to get grass blocks is by getting silk touch or killing a enderman holding the grass block. In Minecraft you should be able to obtain grass seeds from grass. You could obtain grass seeds and seeds (Wheat). Another Idea to still get grass seeds and seeds (Wheat) would be having random patches of wheat around your Minecraft world. The grass seeds when obtained should be either right clicked on a block, in a crafting bench dirt + grass seed, or both. This is my feedback on a idea for getting grass blocks easier.
