Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Finite Water

Finite Water..again??

In all seriousness, I think making water finite would make survival very interesting. Any current water in the world and new water that is generated will be Finite Water. I love Infinite Water too but...

Kelp makes water a source block. This gives another great reason to grow Kelp!

Finite Water gives Sponge a better use. Now the Sponges can PROPERLY clear out water.

Do you want to quickly fill up a lake of water? No problem! A new item emerges from the depths; The Huritide (Hurricane Tide..)

The Hurritide is a rare item found as loot in the ocean. It is a bucket that fills an entire area with source block water (at the same level). It won't fill anything higher or lower than that level with water. It doesn't go through blocks either.

Example: You have a hole about 9 by 9 by 1 deep. You place the Hurritide on the center block and 'water' is placed there. Then where ever it flows, it becomes a source block. If it flows off the edge of an area, that will just be flowing water, it won't fill any area that isn't at the same level as the Hurritide (source). It also won't go through blocks or fences or anything like that.

You could also make source blocks with Frost Walker. or fill the entire area with Kelp.

You'll have to pickup and place the Hurritide for every level, but this is just so massive flooding 'shouldn't' occur. The water that it creates are source blocks but it's still Finite Water and will not replenish source blocks, unless the Hurritide is present at the level of which the water was removed.

Finite Water adds an interesting survival experience. Especially if Thirst is added! Oh boy this sounds exciting!

Note: There is so much water.. I'm not even sure the Hurritide is necessary.. But even so Finite Water and Thirst would be a great addition to the game.

==== Side Notes

There can be Salt Water and Fresh Water. Brine also which is a mix (optional) his could be a place where Skarpbrine spawns frequently as well.. <-Skarpbrine is a separate idea that I posted.

Taking Salt Water in a bottle and either smelting it or brewing it (better for multiple i guess) will turn it into Fresh Water for a Thirst Bar idea.

    The hurritide idea is interesting, like the enchanted golden apple it could be very hard to find. One thing to go against this idea is most players use water's infiniteness every day. Changing a function that has existed so long would be difficult, and likely face opposition, as I for one would prefer the current water mechanics.
