Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Machete for leaves

Although shears are great for getting rid of large quantities of leaf blocks they always drop the block and sometimes you don't need the leaf blocks so it can be a mess or clog up your inventory. I propose the idea of adding a machete. (Crafted like a iron sword but diagonally). The machete would be perfect for clearing out jungle biomes without filling up your inventory with leaves as it would just destroy the block instead of dropping it.
So, basically it would chop leaf blocks as fast shears do but it wouldn't cause the leaf block to drop. This could also work for cobwebs and other things shears are used for.

    Nice idea! I too have been annoyed at shears for making a big mess.

    But what makes me most excited about this is that if the machete behaved like you were just punching the leaves (really fast), it would be a great way to clear out leaves and be able to harvest the saplings quickly! Then, when harvesting trees, you could break all the leaves to get the saplings, and then remove the exposed trunks! Easy!

    It also adds a new weapon to the game, which people seem to love. In damage, machete probably falls between a stone and iron sword.

    It looks like hoes are going to perform this function as of the latest snapshot, although that doesn't make all that much sense to me...

    It will work like an iron sword combined with a stone axe, but it will have a lot of durability. This is my weapon of choice, so it should be added to Minecraft. :)
