Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Dispenser with shears should carve a pumpkin.

In the 1.10 update just released dispensers with shears can now shear sheep. So why not be able to carve pumpkins? Or even better, be able to do anything that shears can do when used on a block by the player, such as cut vines and webs.

    As a builder that uses large quantities of jack o'lanterns for lighting. This would be great in an automatic pumpkin farm.

    +1 TIL about it, and it looks really strange to me that it is impossible now :( Need to make lots of jack-o-lanters, and such a bummer :/

    I think that by either allowing the pumkin to be sheared automatically or by allowing the pumpkin to be dispensed as a full block by the dispenser, would be an asset and a great benefit to the  game as a whole, whilst enhancing the application of the jack o lantern, which I believe to be a very under appreciated lighting block.

    In each of my worlds I have used thousands if not tens of, possibly hundreds of thousands of jack o lantern blocks as in floor lighting/ceiling lighting.
