Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Gravity Affected Light Source Blocks

There should be a light source block that is affected by gravity. It would make digging out massive areas easier at night so mobs don't spawn while you are digging and not having to constantly replace torches. The light sources will automatically be able to fall as you mine out the area. It could have interesting applications for builds as well.

    I was just about to post this... would be great for the cave update because you could use it in large dark caves where there’s a chasm, dropping it down to see how deep it is.

    It could be made of sand and glowstone powder
