Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

This would be a great idea, however, I think the reason for this is that sometimes we are so filled up with space for a larger resource hunt that we get bogged down.  My purpose for using this would be to be able to have a partner be able to take things out when your inventory gets too full.    In order to make sure that this does not make the players OP, I think at least one of the following needs to be incorporated:

    A) The player's inventory has to be full in order to place something in the "public" Ender Chest.

    B) Groups should be made for the "public" Ender Chest, similar to how only one person can currently access the contents of his or her own Ender Chest, a group of 2 or 3 (hence the Partner example) should only be able to access the contents of its "public" Ender Chest.

    C) The player has to place a hopper/chest input system at the same time that another player places a hopper/chest output system, so that the contents that are meaning to be shared/transferred slide right through- This supports the "partner" concept.

B and C are most logical to me.

yes me and my dad play minecraft togeather and a ender chest seems pointless to us bc if we store items in it and 1 of us is out mining while the other is building we cant get to said item S:

The nametag idea is clever! Like set a specific name for the chests between you and your friend!

The "group" idea is interesting. It would be great to have like a "tiny enderchest", something that has to be placed, or opened in the player's inventory like a backback.

Each player would have a personal "tiny enderchest" (like the normal enderchest) which would have something like 4 slots of capacity. However, they could invite another player to "mix" their "tiny enderchests". As a result, these two players would have a common 8-slot "tiny enderchest", and could share items through it.

We could imagine an "invite and accept" feature in the "tiny enderchest" gui, and players could mix their "tiny enderchests" up to a certain amount of players.

We could be able to craft this item with something found in the new 1.16 warped forest biome in nether, and something quite expensive like an ender eye, an ender crystal or a nether star.

This could be done through teams
There would be an option in /team modify for a shared enderchest
Alternatively, if you were in a team you could have 9 slots at the bottom of your enderchest which were always shared to your team, and the normal 27 slots of private enderchest space

I had an idea that the game recognizes who places ender chests down, and if double ender chests are added and two players make one double ender chest, they could both interact with it

The chest should be made from crying obsidian. This would give it a different appearance and it gives a reason it works differently.
This would be great for servers even useful for single player worlds because it would be a second type of ender chest for those players.

Instead of an open access ender chest, I appreciate having a means of storing items I do not want just anyone gaining access to, how about a coded ender chest, like a safe/lock box. In a realm I play on random coordinates are given to the members to start their base at. Sometimes we have need of a resource and another player might have it and have to trek thousands of blocks just to deliver resources, and then thousands of blocks back... iced nether tunnels have reduced the travel time, but it would be nice if we could place an item in our end chest, and the other player put the combination/code into an ender chest on their side and receive the items they needed... then having the ability to change the codes periodically would help keep things secure. I would like to see this as an addition to what is already in the game instead of replace it...

I'd make it only a few slots eg... 8?

the concept of long distance item sharing is definitely a needed addition to the game. The only thing needed is that an ender chest act like a compass. A compass links to a loadstone and receives a enchanted glint to show it is different. So an ender chest should be able to link to a single normal chest which then allows both to share items and both to receive a enchanted glint to set them apart from other chests.

If you are foreseeing having linked chests becomes a headache to gameplay simply only let each player have one at a time.
