Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

While this isn't a bad idea, I'd say locator maps and enabling coordinates already do this.

Great idea. I went here exactly to ask for this.

I hate the need to press F3 and take note of coordinates in order to explore, its like cheating. The game should let you get these coordinates in an ingame way, or something similar. I think a GPS is a too "futuristic" item in minecraft world but a Sextant or an Astrolabe should be perfect. It could be only X and Z coordinates. The Y is not so dramatic, you can calculate it aprox from sea level (62) or bedrock (1 to 4).

In the nether it should work someway. If people uses normally F3 coordinates in nether to create shortcuts, there should be an ingame alternative. IE, you should create a nether compass, sextant, astrolabe with cuartz, soulsand or other nether ingredient.

A simple update to the Compass could just do the trick. It could either be a toggle in settings to show/hide coordinates when holding Compass, or an enchantment, called for example "Sextant".
