    It would also add a nice sense of environment if animals would flock to sources of water occasionally, especially in dry biomes like the savanna!

    Minecraft definitely strikes a good balance currently, though these behaviours should expand include more mobs.

    Will note that the player shouldn't be punished for AI interactions. Having an entire village killed off by zombie raids is never fun; a similar situation to all the animals around you dying because spawns weren't tipped to their favour.

    Instead, the benefits should be strictly positive, rewarding the player for orchestrating the perfect environment for their animals. Whether that be the amount of item drops a player obtains from a well fed vs. malnourished animal, or how capable an animal is along the same gradient.

    Sheep would be a good model for these mechanics, as their wool output is entirely dependent on the grass available around them.

    Pets would require a little more tweaking, though I'd imagine a lot could be done by buffing a wolf's speed/attack when they're well fed.

    I think adding this to villagers would also allow for building growth and a new challenge
