(RANT AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!)
Now, gold is rarer than iron, but not as rare as diamond. You'd think gold would be better than iron, since it's rarer, but not as good as diamond. Hell, in my earlier days of playing Minecraft, I actually thought that gold was better than iron, since it's rarer.
I was wrong, very wrong.
Gold in real life is weaker than Iron, so it should be weaker in Minecraft too, right?
You could argue that...
...except you really can't.
We're talking about a game where green leafy quadrupeds chase you down and explode. Where you can find walking corpses, giant spiders, knockoff slendermen, a literal dragon and LIVING SNOWMEN.
Suggesting to make gold stronger than iron isn't even much of a stretch, because they made OBSIDIAN harder than it is in real life. Obsidian is basically volcanic glass. It breaks easily in real life, but not in Minecraft? WHAT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME, NOTCH?!?!
AAAAAAAAAAA?!?!?!?!
*huff* *puff*
Sorry, I had a bit of a fit there.
What I'm suggesting is that gold should be between iron and diamond in the tier list. Gold gear should be better than iron, but worse than diamond, so that it's rarity makes sense. A gold pickaxe should be required to mine diamond, instead of iron, so that gold isn't completely cast aside from the progression.
Thanks for reading my suggestion!
