We welcome feedback about menus, toggles on menus, buttons on menus, input devices (like touch controls and keyboards), and Minecraft’s interface. How do you play? What would make it better?

Yes, please! After 1.13+, the command-solution is not working anymore :-(

It's an often overlooked, but great feature in any pc game

It's been 10 years and Minecraft still hasn't got any official solution for this

This worked fine up until 1.13, the JVM argument: -Dorg.lwjgl.opengl.Window.undecorated=true does no longer work after 1.13+
It works great in 1.12.2 and it's a feature that I really miss... it's annoying when Minecraft is blinking because you are going between windows.

    TheCactusMonkey,

I just found the JVM argument on a forum post and was bummed to see it didn't work... then I found this feedback page.

And yes, I HATE the blinking of Minecraft when you deselect it. It's especially annoying with multiple monitors, as it affects all of them.

I too have wanted to see Fullscreen (Windowed) also known as Borderless Window for quite some time now. My main reasoning for this is when I record videos. Currently, when I record a video, the game screen is not quite matching the size of my screen, and so in OBS, I have to center it. But this still leaves empty space at the top and bottom of the video. It's not much, but it would be much better if I could run Minecraft in a Borderless Window. But I don't want to have to resort to a mod, as that just complicates the process, where a more permanent solution would be a simple setting native to the game.

This needs to happen. If I select Fullscreen with Windows 10 (I have HDR enabled) it does NOT play in HDR mode. However if I get a notification of any kind (through Windows, Discord, Achievement etc) my display flashes, shows a fullscreen version of Minecraft (using HDR windows setting) just fine and then flashes and reverts back when the notification leaves.

    Please. PLEASE.

Desperately required by multi-screen users and previously worked, no sane reason to leave this out

I desperately need Minecraft to have a Borderless Window option. I just hate the blink to black when I alt + tab out of the application. It's kind of silly that a game of such popularity doesn't even have such a common display mode haha.

I'm over a year late to this but this would be a great addition. I'm shocked it hasn't happened already, Fullscreen just makes it annoying to Alt+Tab into another window.

I would like to see this be added. Hopefully in .16.4 or .17!

ngl. new player to MC. but, borderless windowed IS there. If you've got the launcher, just edit the resolution in the settings of the game within the launcher.

Not sure why nobody here is mentioning it.

Running Java Edition if that matters.

Wow I never thought about how useful this would be until now. THIS IS A MUST!! especially for dual-monitor users like myself

I am baffled as to why this is not a thing yet.

On Bedrock Edition when you tab out in fullscreen it disconnects you from the server for whatever reason. A borderless windowed mode would fix this.

Yes! We very much need it! Trying to create content in fullscreen is not possible, which limits me to 720p, or have the game get slightly stretched. Additionally, I'm testing the resolution edit. The results are that it is still a bordered window

Minecraft is a game that you tab-out for on many occasions, especially if you are following a build on youtube and need to pause the video. Is it that difficult to make a borderless windowed mode?

It's been 2 years and this still does not look to be in development. I have moved over to dual PC streaming and if I tab out of fullscreen mode my capture card shows my desktop, and in windowed mode it shows the top of the window and my taskbar... Mojang please add haha, every other game has this Minecraft should also.

Honestly, it's a little silly that this isn't already a feature. Borderless windows aren't by any means new; a game that supports DLSS and ray tracing, especially one owned by the company that designs the OS most people are playing Java on, ought to have supported this BEFORE it became the norm.

Fullscreen for minecraft makes it so that any overlay that I have doesn't work while I'm playing and anytime i use something like Game Bar, it minimizes the game and forces a bunch of suff that doesn't need to happen

Work around for folks for now - your "alt+tab" just got a whole lot more complicated:

    * go to settings, select windowed
    * press F11 to go full screen
    * play the game, have fun until need arises to switch
    * press F11 again!
then ALT+Tab to the thing you needed to do... - Note still hearing music etc.
    * then switch back and press F11 again to go full screen again.

I really don't understand why Mojang haven't implemented this yet, this is just absurd! It's 2023 people, second monitors are cheap! Almost anyone who wants to have multi monitors can afford to have them, and it's infuriating that we still have to install mods just to have a feature there's not a single reason to not exist in Vanilla! Please, Mojang! PLEEEEASE!

Any modern games have this possibility right away. Why this is sssoooooo complicated to implement!? Stop adding new features and invest to implement something most of the gamers and streamers wants. You want to make money, right? Your game will have more visibility everywhere!
