Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Dog sleighs/sleds. Fast and fun snow travel!


The dog sled: Crafted with 3 wooden slabs above 3 iron bars. About the same length as a boat.

**Pros:**

• You can connect up to 10 dogs, (5 a side) with each dog increasing the pull speed by 2 blocks a second. That’s fast.

• Skeletons and strays will stay out of your way, not firing at you for fear of angering the dogs. It can carry up to two players, one player and one chest or one player and a mob/golem.

• For those that’d want a tad bit of personality to theirs they could also come in various woods.

**Cons:**

• Can only go fast over blocks like ice, snow, packed ice or blue ice, however would still be able to move slowly over other ground materials such as stone at about the same speed as a pig with saddle.

• Dogs will swerve in an alternate direction if they come across a creeper.

**Final thoughts:**

All in in all I think it would be a fun and useful mode of transport to have, especially if you don’t like skeletons or strays shooting at you.

    If sleighs come to minecraft, boats should become unable to build velocity when on ice, because right now, the boat is basically an ice-sled already.
    Having sleighs on blue ice-highways would make way more sense.

    About going downhill;
    The sled should rotate fowards whenever it falls, so the front tips down to make the sleigh look like it's on a real slope.
    Whenever it lands however, the downwards velocity should be added to the forwards velocity to keep the sleigh going.
    Of course this would be op and unrealistic, so as the sleigh falls, it should keep tilting forwards until it's turned 90° and breaks on impact with the ground.

    This is just an idea of hiw the sleigh physics on a mountain could be programmed, I'm sure it would look janky if coded exactly how I described, but I'm sure the peopke at mojang can think of a way to make it work like a real sleigh.

    Maybe it would tilt it front part down when falling and have durability and must be repaired for it to work when it runs out of durability.

    Another idea to the structure of the sled. Adding a chest above the sled would allow for item transport similar to a mule.

    If going over the new powder snow on its own is too easy and additional recipe for dog snow shoes could be added. Adding one leather into the four corners of the crafting table would create one set of dog snow shoes. It would also match the mechanics of leather boots allowing the player to walk across powder snow. 

    Maybe dogs would become a spawn in snowy villages to make them more accessible for this purpose.

    That should be added on a winter update along with more new dog variants along with the already existing ones
