Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Banners as flags

When banners are placed on the sides of fence posts, turn them into flags.

The banner will be flown lengthwise and right clicking it with an empty hand will cycle it between two states:

  • The banner is rotated so that the top is facing the fence post
  • The banner is still upright but the designs are adapted to the dimensions of a flag. Not stretched, of course, because that would be ugly. Just slightly redesigned so that it looks good as a flag.

    This is exactly what I need. Making flags from blocks is ugly and out of scale.

    This is exactly what I am hoping to see. Would love to set up a flag or flags on my houses rather than just banner.

    Here's a idea you'd be able to make a new block which would be thinner than fence post called a flag pole where you can hang a custom banner you made and it could wave like a banner does and you can place the pole on walls and hang banners from them they would also be able to be made from all wood types and if you place it on top of a wall block ex. a cobblestone wall it would have a little base on top of the wall it would do the same against a wall you place it on

    What happens if you can't right click on it? I am using Minecraft on Nintendo Switch only. They say right click circles through some cycle to make it sideways instead of up and down. But I am on the Switch.... So how do I make my banner go sideways (horizontal) without using a command block? Or do I have to use a command block? Please set my poor old mind at ease (will be 40 in early May) Minecraft rules! I play every day almost. Thank you! From, Sj

    Maybe add the flag as a separate item to the banner, all the while still using the same technical properties with the loom, would also be cool to be able to scale the flag similar to the map for different flag sizes.
