For a long time its just been Wooden Chests and Ender Chests, and although the Shulker Box is nice, I think chests deserve some more variety. There are tons of mods that have done this, like iron/gold/diamond/crystal chests, or even backpacks (please add backpacks) and I don't think it would be terribly hard to implement these into the game.
But I'm sure this gets requested plenty, so I'd also like to propose something different. Just like how its possible to create a nether/end portal by placing blocks in certain formation, I think the same thing could apply to something like a vault. For example, making a box of Iron blocks, and then putting a "Vault Door" on it, grants you to a certain amount of chest slots directly related to however many blocks of air are inside of the box. This means if you made an 11x11x11 box of iron blocks, there would be 10x10x10 blocks of air (1,000 blocks of air) giving you a total of 1000 chest storage slots. Besides that, you could also put a passcode on the vault, or leave it password free, which would be really nice for servers/mapmakers, and even just worlds playing with some friends. Overall I think that would be a really nice addition to the game, let me know what you think though, thank you for reading, and of course criticism is welcome :)
