Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Grapes, Honeysuckle, or Wisteria: a "trainable" vine/shrub

The food item thread was closed so here we go again.

Grapes are a fairly popular suggestion, with a bit of a spin on the normal block.

 

Basically, I suggest a plant that will spread as it grows (like grape vines do) but instead of spreading one direction like vines, and always moving down, this will spread up and out, BUT only along the path of the "wire" or string that has been placed.

 

So you could run your string along posts and get a traditional vineyard look, elegant rows of lush greenery, heavy with delicious fruit.  Or run it up and over an arbor or awning.  It would give us a way to decide where we want things to go, while also giving us a limiting ability, without needing to put buttons or signs to stop vines from growing down.

    This would be an awesome plant addition. You should definitely be able to pick grapes from the vines just like the berry bushes. Maybe it could be made to where you can crouch andplace bonemeal on the ground just like red stone and the vine will slowly grow toward the bonemeal. I know that is kinda a weird idea but it could work.

    I've been thinking of this the past few days as well. Would love to see winemaking with some purpose for it too as well as a villager job to go with it.

    Putting grapes in a furnace should dry them out so that you can make raisins. I personally don't like raisins in real life, but I still think they would make a good addition to the game. When eaten, they would heal two hunger.
