fjord

Minecraft probably needs something like fiords. They can have a common ore in them and many waterfalls. It would a be a good addition and certainly a good place for a village to reside.

    I like the idea, so let's try to expand on it, adding more detail. 

    What mobs will spawn in this biome? Well, I think there should be brown and black bears, bats, and maybe otters. As well as sea lions. 

    For ores, maybe coal, iron, and quartz. Quartz would spawn rarely, but it'd be a way to obtain it without travelling to the nether. Clay could also be found, and maybe a new ore/mineral, Marble. Marble would be similar to quartz, it'd look nice in some decorations.

    As for structures, I have no ideas.

    it would be a very fun idea; just a tall mountain of granite and then suddenly a cliff that goes 50 blocks down and into the water

    I would like seagulls and orcas to spawn in fiords. And marbles are a great idea too! They should add them.What do you think?

    This biome may even probably go hand in hand with the 'Cliffs' aspect of the upcoming Java/Bedrock Edition 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update. Not only will the Fjord biome feature sheer cliffs and deep blue green water, it might also be a good way to mix both the 'Caves' & 'Cliffs' aspect of the update:
    • it might add strategy to mining ores by having the ores spawn in different levels on the Fjord's cliffsides;
    • perhaps this biome could benefit from the upcoming feature called 'Local Water Levels' which might make the waterfalls possible.
    • this may become one of the places where goats can spawn naturally

    The Fjord biome would prove to be challenging to traverse, as the sheer cliffsides can only be easily traversed by goats, and the player might have to use boats to travels throught it.
    Overall, the Fjord biome would serve to be a balanced mixture between the 'Caves' & 'Cliffs' aspects of the 1.17 update.

    I love this idea! This could add a lot to the “Cliffs” part of the Caves and Cliffs update! I have a few suggestions that I think would go well with this. With fjords, there could be a chance for taiga trees to spawn on gentle slopes, with other parts having sheer drop offs, providing a little risk to exploring the biome. There could be small waterfalls streaming down the sides, and a rare chance for glaciers to generate at the beginning point of the fjord. If it’s possible, the can be a rare snowy variant of the biome, with a frozen over river. If the fjord opens up to an ocean, there could be a chance for a village to generate there. As for structures, there could be stone tower ruins, and possibly Viking style villages and/or taiga villages, and for mobs, seagulls would make a great addition.

    Another idea, if the Fjord opens up to a ocean, it should change the shipwreck generation in the area. They would be viking style with spruce as a wood majority.

    And, goats should spawn with different fur colors or whatever it is
