Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

    I like the idea of statues;

    • I would suggest that they are crafted with two of the same worked stone blocks and a head; forms a 2 high statue (dependent on the head type) in the material used. Different materials would have different poses.
    • Maybe when powered (redstone) they would spit fire onto the block they are facing? or attract that type of mob?
    • They could be waterlogged for underwater placement.
    • A name-tag could be used to put a plaque on the pedestal under it.
    • If hit by lightning they have the chance to spawn a mob based on the statue.

    My only concern is that it imitates terraria: I would not have them spawn anywhere - only have them craftable.

    I like the idea of adding a gargoyle, but here is my idea for how they will work:

    There would be a new underground stone village that is completely desolate. The only form of life would be stone statues known as gargoyles, but they are not a mob. These creatures are actually living blocks. They only move when you cannot see them and they will attack you behind your back. You can mine gargoyles as if it is a block, then you can place the gargoyle anywhere. The gargoyle will not be able to die, you cannot permanently destroy it, and it will have no drops or rewards. You could put every gargoyle you encounter inside a chest to prevent them from attacking you, or you could put all these living statues outside your friend’s house. ;)
