I don't think this is in the game, and someone else has to have gone over this before, but I am giving it a shot. I think that as you take damage you should get progressively slower as you take more damage. Your attacks could also be slower or do less damage. Maybe you could only partially charge back your bow or something similar. You could also make it so if you shoot someone below the hips that they could slow down a bit more. You could do all sorts of stuff with this. I just think Minecraft would be a lot more realistic if you can't prance around after you just became a human pincushion or after you barely survived that creeper that snuck up behind you while you were afk for just one second. If you had enough time, you could add it for mobs too, then everyone could finally kill that elusive cow taunting them from outside their house.
