Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

A Throwable Lightsources

You are in a large dark space ( eg a ravine), a throwable light source would be helpful. It could be glowstone dust mixed into a slimeball. This item would stick to the walls but despawn after a couple minutes.

    Now with the Cave and Cliffs update this would be even more important with vast open caves with no light. It is always hard to place torches around super tall ravines and caves, but with a throwable light source it would be easy.

    This should be revived as an idea. With the new glowsquid and glow lichen, there should be a way to throw a glow lichen up high onto walls.

    This is a great idea, especially in 1.18.  I don't think a temporary light would be very helpful though.  Maybe there could be a light source that's shootable with bow or crossbow.  Possibly it could be connected somehow with the frogs from the Wild Update.
