Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Engine Block and Wheel Block

Hi!

I think it will be a good idea to make Engine Block and Wheel Block for building and driving own motor vehicle. It could be evererything you want: car, train, house or whole willage on wheels.

• Put wheel on a ground
• Build something you want over its
• Put Engine Block inside and it works.

• For more powerfull engine you can combine several Engine Blocks.
• For bigger wheels you can use more material while crafting.

You can drive it by gamepad, for instance. There is no need to use steering wheel.

    Great idea and would take it a bit further...the engine block should be available for other modes of transportation such as boats, airplanes, helicopters, submarines and elevators. I've imagined building a giant city-ship that could explore the oceans and carry an airplane, helicopter, submarine and automobile on board for furter exploration.

    The wheel should be able to be powered by red stone so that you can build a car, and you should also be able to make a cart pulled by horse, llama, or mule. And yes, we should have the steering wheel too.

    I dont know how to send stuff on this or it would be an this months before and how would going up hills work I've had a few ideas
    • the structure tilts
    • the structures curve or
    • it squashes the land
    Mabye we could make something similar to mortal engines with the addition of jaws. And there could be a block-speed ratio with the wheels.

    This this is a fantastic idea. You are spot on! This is a very good idea as an example. I’d love to be able to build a flying house, UFO, etc in survival mode and creative mode. Block transportation. Engine block sounds good however it would probs be best as an add on like the Archimedes airship mod although I’d prefer it added to the game. Currently I have an airport that I wish I could get my planes to fly and be flown around to different airports. Yes that would be cool. Imagine taking passengers around the map.

    I have been kicking this idea around for a while now. I would like to suggest in addition to the fine ideas here that the engine block only work when attached to blocks that have been gathered by a player and not attached to the ground (unless wheel blocks become a thing).  The engine block should be harder to make and perhaps use Redstone, Iron blocks, and Copper blocks in its construction.  If it were up to me, I would make the ratio of 1 engine block per 64 blocks you would like to move.  I think it would be amazing to be able to craft a working zeppelin or even a floating castle :) Perhaps a "helm" block to keep multiple people from driving the same craft at once in multiplayer.  You could also maybe make the Engine block consume Redstone as fuel (much like a furnace consumes coal).   If you wanted, you could set a certain speed the craft can go based on the ratio of blocks to engine block (I.E) if its velocity is 4 blocks/sec at 64 blocks then it could be 8 blocks/sec at 32 blocks and fastest at 16 blocks/sec with a ratio of 1 engine on a 16-block vehicle.  Just some thoughts.  I love the engine block idea!!!!
