    Dude, your ideas are so good. It is exactly what I want. The idea of a huge tree that covers the forest and in the same time uncover the forest is very smart. I hope it will be in a future update ! And if you have more ideas, write them ! It cost nothing, and more you have ones, more Mojang has choice.

    This sounds amazing!!! I think it would be really good to update this biome for all your reasons you stated. I love the whole thing and dont see any faults. I do think there should be another new item only obtainable in these treasure chests. But otherwise, it sounds fantastic

    If you wanted the Roofed Forest to be easier to navigate through by thinning the tree coverage, then why do you suggest weeds or vines that not only get in the player's way but also grow in numbers?

    @WolveReiner781
    I see the patches of weeds and vines as kind of their own micro biomes, huge patches of them with huge open areas interlaced. They wouldn’t be everywhere, more like obstacles you have to go around or toughen up and go straight through. Perhaps structures could generate in the middle of large patches?

    This is a really cool idea! I think it would be even more fun if there were these annoying bugs on trees and if you attack them or run into them they would latch onto you and deal half a heart of damage every 30 seconds or so. To prevent them from getting on you wear armor, and to get them off you have to go underwater.

    Oakmoth: Cicada-like bugs that flit around in groups during night, during the day they sleep on the side of giant dark oaks to avoid the sunlight. They are not killed in sunlight, rather they lose their ability to fly and move quickly. If you manage to lead one up, it will function as a slow-falling potion until the lead breaks. If you encounter them while they are awake they will swoop at you like a phantom, (although they only stay about 1 or 2 blocks above your head) and whenever they bite you they restore some health. When killed they drop an oakmoth wing which can either be used to repair your elytra or combined with a regeneration potion to make a Potion of Hematophagy: the potion of hematophagy would allow you to gain health whenever you deal damage. The better your weapon the faster you heal. These potions last quite a while

    Alternatively, if you'd like to gain a more permanent slow-falling like effect, you can crouch and let one of these blood suckers bite you and they will latch onto your back. They will give you permanent slowfalling whenever you are outside of sunlight, in exchange for a few of your hearts every now and then.

    there is another post about illuminated forests, which light up at night. If we added that to your ideas, the roofed forest would be such an amazing place!

    Perhaps Glowbulbs should come in blue, green, and red variants. You would be able to breed them to make unnatural variations such as magenta, yellow and teal.

    They should add forest clearings.

    ''roofed'' forests are only roofed when you walk under the leaves. It's much easier to travel over them. Dark oak trees should be made taller and should be spaced further apart, but of course be close enough to make the forest roofed. It should be made so that horses can be ridden under the trees, and it be made more difficult to walk over the roofed leaves, by making them more randomly placed.

    Edit; The biomes themselves should be made larger, and should stretch around the world in different shapes so when exploring, these biomes have to be ventured through. Mansions should only spawn in the largest roofed forests, and should be far enough in so that they can't be seen from the outside of the biome.
