Have you ever wondered if you could fight someone with swords, then jump high in the air and slam the ground, damaging everyone nearby? Well, I am here to bring this to Minecraft. The way skills will work is similar to advancements, except it comes with its own perks. For example, if you were to kill maybe 10 or 15 zombies with a sword, you would be notified that you earned a new skill, or ability in other words, which can be used as combinations to unleash havoc upon foes. An example of a combination would be like crouching twice and then being able to slide. This addition to Minecraft, especially to PvP servers, will engage more players into fighting mobs and players in combat and surely will be very interesting and cool to see in action.
Although, skills would vary by weapon. Bows will shoot three arrows instead of one if they charge the bow for long enough when the skill is unlocked. The way skills will be unlocked is by defeating enemies and collecting their XP. When enough mobs and XP were collected (an indicator will be there), a notification on the top right of your screen saying, "Congratulations, you unlocked the (insert name here) skill!" To view skills, there will be a new button on your inventory showing an icon of a diamond sword, then clicking the icon will grant you to what seems to be advancements, but made for skills.
Skills will not only be unique but will also grant the player a set of advantages with each skill rewarded. Rolling, dodging, and dashing are only a few ideas. With skills, a whole new future for Minecraft is only a few steps away.
