Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Ice Skates

Everyone has been using boats on ice to move quickly but I have been thinking that with ice skates you have fast transport, it would take leather boots and 2 pieces of iron

    Skating would be a fun & festive addition to holiday-themed worlds. Many resource packs have tried to emulate a skating rink, but without unique mechanics of skating, it never comes close.
    It would be a fast travel method across icy lakes and rivers.
    Combined with a Frost Walker enchantment, one could skate anywhere.

    I'm going to make a serious argument to why this should be in the game. Ice Skates have i been around since 1000 bce. It's not something newer or modern like pizza or a smartphone. Ice skates were used to help people get acrossed frozen rivers. So in game it will help players travel across large icy areas giving them more control over the ice and faster propulsion. When figure skating was introduced, skates with short blades and a curve at the end was develop to provide skaters with quick turns. In game, players should have the option of quick turns but it takes a lot of skill. I also believe ice skates are a nice jesture to the community. Maybe add them during a holiday update. This way players can have fun and show of their skills during the holidays. It's one of those detours that makes the game fun.

    I would love to see this added, and with the Caves and cliffs update Ice caves may be possible which would make Ice Skates perfect for this update.

    Same attributes as leather boots, including dye colors, powder snow walking, enchantable with Mending I, Unbreaking III, and Frost Walker I/II, would provide the same speed effect as Soul Speed I/II/III enchantment but only on ice, and would provide slowness effect like walking on soul sand/soul soil when walking on non ice blocks.

    ^^^Slowness effect on non-ice^^^ was exactly my thoughts, pain in the neck to try and run with ice skates.

    If they do this and roller-skates, roller-skates are the opposite... Except instead of slowing on ice you lose all traction/grip and fall down hard.
