Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Repairing Anvils

  Anvils are very useful for repairing tools in the game, but I think there should be a way to repair the anvils themselves. If anvils where changed in this way, players will be able to continue using the same anvil, rather then replacing it. I think this should be added because it is very expensive to replace anvils, and also I am sometimes too afraid to use them because they break so easily.

    by right clicking the anvil with an iron ingot, just like with an iron golem?

    True, just like the iron golem costs so much iron, it's possible to easily repair him. So if it was possible to repair the anvil, it would save a lot of iron, like the iron golem.

    This remains relevant for the devs to consider. The anvil is rather expensive at 31 iron ingots total comparatively to its purpose and average usage (~25 uses). Don't assume all players are going to build an iron farm! One of its purposes, to repair items, remain underused in part due to the anvil being expensive to replace (the other part being that only restoring 25% item durability if using materials is also very overpriced, considering it often takes only 2-3 of the same material to make the item).

    Being able to repair it similarly to how you feed an iron golem an iron ingot would be consistent with an existing method, but since a right-click normally opens the UI this would mean either the player would have to crouch to repair it, or that the UI will not open if right-clicked while holding the repair material. Both solutions would be acceptable imo.

    Since the anvil actually breaks after taking damage only three times (and there only being a 12% chance of it taking damage) a single iron ingot is understandably too cheap to repair it. Instead an iron block (equating to 9 iron ingots) would be a reasonable cost for repairing 1 stage of damage. If further balancing is needed then the chance of it taking damage could also be adjusted.

    Either way, please consider this!

    How about using iron to repair the anvil. Just use one iron ingot per stage of damage.
