Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

This obviously makes sense. As soon as I saw this block I immediately thought I should jump on it to see if I get hurt. Would be great for mob grinders. Many pro you tubers also suggested this in their snapshot reviews.

Should've been done long ago. Also, what the hell is the stonecutter powered by?

I do agree with you. Also, I think stone masons  shouldn't be given damage since they know how to use it (apprentice and higher).

The villagers might get hurt and that won't be good for trading halls where they need there stations to refresh trades.

    This change is needed because:

    - Stonecutters, with their animation are intuitively a dangerous spinning blade. It would make perfect sense for them to naturally damage players!

    What it does:

    - If the player or any monster stands on top of the stone-cutter, it should deal damage to them.

    How it adds to Minecraft:

    - Stone cutters would be perfect for dungeons, creating a unique sense of danger to pitfall traps.

    - It would create a large amount of possibilities for players to design their own security systems.

    - It is different than Magma Blocks because it would damage the player regardless of crouching, and it is different from thorn bushes because it would cause damage even without player movement.

I am glad that they brought it back after so many years of it being gone. Also I saw it as it would it do damage but was a little disappointed when I placed it down and walked across it but never got hurt. I was confused. There is a exposed blade and I thought it would damage.

Perhaps the blade will only do damage when it is powered by Redstone?

    I like the idea

I also thought this would be damaging. So many ideas as soon as I saw the blade. Pun somewhat intended. But in all seriousness it simply makes more sense that it would cause damage, considering that a: spinning blades in real life are dangerous and b: if it can cut through stone it should be able to cut through players and mobs as well.

The Stonecutter should only rotate the sawblade, if it is powered by Redstone or if a player uses it

This may be an old idea at this point, but I still hope it gets implemented eventually.

I concur. The grindstone should not animate unless used or powered by redstone. Should only cause damage when powered by redstone.

Further more, the grindstone should be placeable on walls and ceilings. If I understand correctly, the grindstone only has 2 states right now, indicating orientation. If it were attachable in any position it would only require 12 states to cover both orientations on any block face.

Stonecutters aren't actually very sharp in real life so good on mojang for not making them deal damage

lol even a berry bush and fresh snow can do damage, while a spinning steel blade is harmless. This needs to be changed asap.

if it needs redstone to damage or move then villager's won't take damage unintentionally
