Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Minecraft really isn't Terraria, or any other game, it is Minecraft.  This is a creative game with simple roots that should be kept and respected for gameplay, otherwise Minecraft is essentially being replaced by something very unlike Minecraft.  The current team simply can't make such radical rewrites to this beloved sandbox game.

We already have a furnace for smelting/cooking things, a brewing stand for potions, an enchantment table for acquiring random enchantments, an anvil for repairing/renaming/combining similar tools, and a crafting table to take care of all the other crafting.  The Loom and Blast Furnace are just enough to top this already long selection of utility blocks.  And when I say utility blocks, that excludes decorative storage/standing blocks like Barrels and Lecterns, which I think are great.  The Blast Furnace doesn't need to keep certain smelting recipes to itself, unlike the Loom.  It would just be a convenient, costlier variant of the Furnace that makes placing and retrieving smelted/cooked items quicker and easier.

Everything else is just too much of a micromanagement, and some of them are just pointless (like the Bell block, which is likely to function just the same as a Note block).
