ADD THIS FEATURE ALREADY! IF A POTATO DEVICE LIKE THE NINTENDO SWITCH CAN HAVE SPLIT-SCREEN, THEN SO CAN A POWERFUL GAMING PC!

it's 2025 and I still find it hard to believe that split-screen support is lacking on Windows version.

Was disappointed today to find out that you can't play Minecraft Bedrock split-screen on PC. I have a nice dual-screen setup that would be perfect for some couch coop. The most baffling thing is that the feature is allegedly there in the leaked dev version, meaning that it already exists in the code for PC but is intentionally turned off... c'mon Microsoft be nice for once and let people play how they want.

It's been on the Minecraft feedback over 6 years! When it was the 6 year anniversary I even wrote a letter to Minecraft in person, they acknowledged it and said they'd mention it. I setup social media accounts dedicated to pestering them to make it, even contacting them on discord to no avail. If it's in the dev version we can only hope they are working on making it stable. Especially with their recent updates containing previously promised things and Java/bedrock parity I feel like this feature could be added with the new pause feature with any luck 🤞 pray to the Minecraft gods and sacrifice the new biome pigs.

    WE NEED THIS!!!!

I would like to request the addition of split-screen support in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition for Windows 11. This is a feature that clearly exists in the Bedrock version for consoles but has, for some reason, been intentionally removed from the Windows edition.

On consoles, including those of competitors, it is possible to play in split-screen without any issues, while on Microsoft’s own operating system, this functionality is simply unavailable. This does not seem to be a technical limitation but rather an artificial decision that negatively impacts PC players.

Additionally, many people who do not own consoles would like to play Minecraft with friends and family on their TVs using controllers. However, the lack of split-screen support prevents this possibility, making the Windows 11 experience inferior without any clear justification.

Adding split-screen support would make the Windows 11 experience more complete and accessible, allowing more players to enjoy the game in the same way it is already available on consoles. I hope you reconsider this decision and bring the feature to the PC version.

Raised the split screen issue with the Minecraft support, got this response:

As of now, split-screen play is not supported on the PC version of Minecraft due to performance limitations.

7 years since this was requested. Still lacking a main basic feature. How is it that old legacy now unsupported versions of Minecraft have it, but the latest bedrock pc does not. Outrageous, upsetting, disappointing, frustrating. I still cannot play win bedrock pc split screen with my family in 2025.

I read the comment that official Microsoft response was that there are performance issues with split screen on PC.

That is at the same time possibly true and hilarious. Yes there are probably some older PCs with IGPU that would have trouble with split screens, but on the other hand there are also lot of PSs that outperform any of consoles split screen is available on.

This Does also make no sense from the business perspective because they could allow split screen but only with two accounts. I am guessing  that lot of us would pay for the second account to be able to play split screen on win 11.

Unfortunately since this post is  old and there is no split screen bedrock on PC in sight, I am guessing nothing will change, but I still want to support petition.

I want to support the petition because it's one of the most important features for me. I want to play with my girlfriend on the same device.

Split-screen already exists in Bedrock on console. Windows PCs are more than capable of running the same feature, especially with controller support. Local co-op is a core use case for families and couch play — please bring parity between console and Windows.

Many families use a single Windows PC connected to a TV. Split-screen would allow local co-op without extra hardware or accounts and would be a huge accessibility win for Bedrock on PC.

It’s disappointing that Windows Bedrock still lacks split-screen while console versions have supported it for years. This feels like an artificial limitation rather than a technical one. Please reconsider adding local split-screen to PC.

Like many others have said, stop with the artificial blocking of this ability. There are a number of other up and coming world building games that have this feature.
