Riding Minecart speed

please make minecart trvel faster; closer to how it was

    Minecarts, as of 1.13, still has a maximum speed of 8 blocks per second on a specific one dimensional axis.  Horses on the other hand, have an average speed of 9 blocks per second.  No matter where they are!  

    And you can make the argument that in order to ride a horse, you need to find a saddle.  But guess what.  I can find a saddle just by fishing it up with a fishing rod and a one block volume of water.  And once I get that.  I can cover infinite distance for no other additional fees.  Wheras minecarts require you to smelt 5 iron for just the minecart itself, and 6 iron for 16 blocks of distance you want to travel.  That's almost a STACK of iron used to travel only 160 blocks away.  Compare that to infinity!

    For those who built a minimum realistic cities, minecarts were the best way to travel long distance (for speed and infrastructure). For long it was easy to travel 10 000 blocks distance in something like 15 minutes ... Now it takes at least 45 to 60 minutes and I'm bored to play when I finaly arrive to the destination point (did I say that I'm exhausted to play just by watching the speed ?). Please do something to solve this absolute aberation. Boat on ice track can reach a speed of 100 blocks second and you let minecart to 8 b/s ?? Please be coherent with yourself and make minecraft great again !!

    Roller coasters in MC would be way better if they were faster.

    We need faster minecarts, right now they are a waste of time except for non survival use rollervoasters but if I want to go down into the mines or accross a continent they take way too long. Inefficient and useless. Just do a small bug update and make the speed higher without any drawbacks you already pay with iron for these to only go one place to another.

    Yes, just make them faster, please. No additional balancing shenanigans, no additional railway mechanics or crafting recipes, just plainly, simply, faster. It would already be balanced and deserved because of how much iron/gold we pay and how little from it we get right now. Just make them at least two times faster. I don't know how lucky we're supposed to be for mojang to make it even more than two times faster, considering how they're giving this issue a silent treatment for so long.


    Gosh, even xbox 360 edition with limited worlds had minecarts faster, this is just ridiculous...
