Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Octablocks

Octablocks are small blocks with 1/2 normal block length (like head) and can be placed in 8 corner position of normal block grid, maybe in 6 positions in block face centers and maybe one in center block.

In one normal block can be only one octablock (simple way), or more than one octablock (harder way).

Octablocks can be made from any full-block material (they are craftable).

Potential usage - detailed buildings, nature (like small trees, branches, bushes), decorations, furniture, etc.

    Maybe, but "slab" actually means a "plane" or planar structure. This looks more like solid blocks, but smaller, with 1/8 of their volume

    I've always wanted something like this. Maybe all the blocks in the game could be broken as they are now or smaller 1/8 blocks could be broken or placed while crouching.

    Well since vertical slabs would automatically interfere with using horizontal ones, why not octablocks...
