In the bedrock beta, bamboo is grown by placing it on certain blocks, this creates a bamboo shoot plant which then turns into a normal bamboo block after growing. I'd like to propose this bamboo shoot is re-added as a different plant.
Why?
When placed in a flower pot, bamboo appears as a miniature bamboo plant, some people may want the shoot in a pot instead. A shoot item could potentially be edible or used in food, like real life. Pandas also eat bamboo shoots in addition to bamboo, if taming or a similar system is added, then pandas could be fed shoots for breeding and bamboo for taming, or vice versa.
How?
Bamboo shoots would drop from the leafy bits of bamboo in addition to the normal item, like saplings (which is exactly what they are), which only appear once it grows to a certain height, as a bonus this is more realistic and also encourages people to grow bamboo to a nice height.
Thanks for reading, please check out my other post about moving the bamboo plant to its own forest, it can be found here: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360026586951-Give-bamboo-its-own-biome?input_string=Seperate%20bamboo%20and%20bamboo%20shoots
