Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Ladder Variants

There is currently only one ladder in Minecraft, and it is coloured like Oak Wood. There should be ladders for Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Dark Oak, and Acacia. This would be so good to have, not only for builders but for everyone too.

    But wait.  Ladders are made from sticks.  It isn’t possible to get different types of sticks.  Perhaps the ladders would be crafted with any ladder + one wooden plank of the right kind.

    Ladders should be crafted like this:
    Sticks - nothing - Sticks
    Sticks - plank of any sort - Sticks
    Sticks - nothing - Sticks

    That would allow different ladder sorts to exist.

    and of course with the nether update coming, I'd like to see warped and crimson ladders too (I'm aware this was posted almost 2 years ago)

    I was just looking at a build on my realm that uses ladders where my main wood is acacia and though to myself, "Wow, sure would be nice if we had variants." Just wanted to drop in some support for this very old suggestion. I'd even love to see other wood-prominent items do the same thing, like barrels, campfires, and armor stands.

    it would be cool to have multiple types of ladders rather than just the oak ones, I see other things like fences have multiple variants and believe multiple ladder variations would be cool for building too :]
