Minecon Earth 2018 revealed that the taiga biome won the vote and with it, Minecraft will be getting proper campfire blocks! So what would be perfect for a foraging survivalist with a campfire? An easy, new way of lighting it of course!
Sure we have Flint & Steel, but that uses an Iron Ingot; I think we should have a more easy-access fire starting device. The Fire Bow, or perhaps "Fire Starter" to avoid confusion, would be crafted with three sticks and one string in the inventory crafting grid.
Holding right-click with the Fire Bow on any block will begin its animation. The bow is moved back and forth and the stick begins to spin and produce smoke. After the smoke particles appear, a fire will be set.
This feature will be great for players that think Minecraft needs more of a bushcraft survival element. This combined with the ability to light campfires and forage for berries will be perfect!
