So your saying that if a phantom spawns regularly, it will be nuetral, but if the player hasn’t slept in 3+ days, the phantom will be neutral?

No, I said that if the player hasn't slept in 3+ days it would be hostile towards that player. The Phantom would also be hostile if the player attacks it, regardless of days slept. In any other cases, the Phantom is neutral.

I just want to be able to encounter phantoms more often. It's exciting to have a new hostile mob that attacks completely differently to other mobs. Having to "not sleep" sounds like a neat spawning condition at first but is dumb when you think about it for more than a second.

Yes, we need this! I've never been able to get Phantoms for some reason. I stay up for so many in game days and don't see a single one! I don't have it on Peaceful but they still won't spawn. It's so annoying and I hope it can get fixed.

I really like this idea! This way we will get to encounter phantoms, which are a really cool mob visually, without getting annoyed by them. Insomnia would only affect their hostility towards the player, I love it. I do think they should spawn more often and in packs after the player kills one, so that it's still possible to get the 2 birds, 1 arrow achievement. But not by default, cause that would be a lot of mobs to process computationally so far away in normal gameplay.
