I think cheese would be a good addition to Minecraft.
The whey 😄 to make it would be to get milk and put it into the either furnace or crafting table
(crafting table) put milk and sugar into crafting table (more sugar means you regain food bars quicker).
(furnace) put milk into furnace and cook.
If you kill a cow by burning it maybe it could also give cheese every now and then.
Cheese could be used to craft a cheesecake. Cheese + cake = cheesecake.

(Major gasp in background) Dude! Cheese Cake! I'm down. You and me are master chefs my friend(because I also have a list of foods as well. Not taking your idea).
I had the same idea!
Mine is a bit different though, but I'll comment it here because I don't think we're supposed to make separate posts for the same thing.
Obtaining:I thought it would be cool if cheese was made in a cauldron. Milk could be placed in a cauldron and then after a while automatically convert into cheese (this makes some sense for soft cheeses). Once it has converted to cheese the player can take it out of the cauldron by right clicking on it.
When the cauldron is full of milk the player would be able to take the milk back out with a bucket if they wanted to, but would not be able to take any milk out with water bottles. The time for the milk to convert to cheese would be similar to the time it takes a cactus to grow. A cauldron full of milk would output a signal strength of 3.
When the cauldron is full of cheese the player would be able to take it out of the cauldron by right clicking on it and the cheese item would pop off in the same way bonemeal would pop off a composter. A hopper could also be used to automatically suck out the cheese item. A cauldron full of cheese would output a signal strength of 4.
Usage:
- Cheese can be eaten on it's own
- Crafted into cheesecake (I got that from the original post, maybe there should be a separate post for cheesecake?)
- Used to brew a Potion of Nullifying
Cheese would restore 7 hunger points (3.5 haunches) and have a saturation of 13, making it a decent food source. It would also stack to 64.
Or pizza, yoghurt...
NO.
1. Cheese, especially when melted, is absolutely and utterly disgusting.
2. I know cheese isn't "to modern" for Minecraft, but it just feels to processed of a food to put in game.
With goats coming in 1.15 I could see this
There should be a new crafting station for it, eg a churner could be used for butter and other things and something like a container or incubator could be used to make cheese and other things. I need to think of a name and if you have any ideas tell me
You would get Cheese from Cows and Goats.
Cheese might be use to craft pizza.
Recipe:
Meat Vege Vege
Cheese Cheese Cheese
Bread Bread Bread
Meat = Any type of cooked meat
Vege = Any type of Vegetable
Pizzas would restore 10 hunger points and would restore 32 saturation. It would also grant 30 seconds of swiftness.
Maybe it would look like this:
I don’t see why we should be able to make cheesecake (cheesecake isn’t made with cheese) but I’m down for cheese! I think there should also be a funky cheese that can be obtained through a wandering trader.
cheese should be made from any milk and if your adding cheese you should add butter and other dairy products.
Making cheese in the cauldron is a good idea. That would give the cauldron more meaning too. Production: milk in the cauldron + mushrooms = cheese that pops out after a while. Automation with hoppers would be great.
I agree that cheese would be a great inclusion, and I loved bunny rabbit's suggestion that cheese could be used to brew a Potion of Nullifying, or any potion that blocks/removes status effects for a duration of time. However, I think it would be interesting if cheese on its own acts like milk - a status effect remover - but in the form of food. If a player has cheese, they could remove status effects and recover health/stamina at the same time. In situations where cheese is the only food left, it would make the player consider whether they should eat the cheese in order to recover some health & stamina, removing any status effects that they currently have and might want, or if they should refrain so that they keep their status effects. In terms of obtaining cheese, I like bunny rabbit's suggestion of letting milk set in a cauldron, but if that won't work, placing a milk bucket in a furnace might do (although that seems more tedious than the cauldron method). Perhaps cheese could be collected as (cheese) curds, so when the milk is done converting into cheese, the player right-clicks it to receive a few curds (3-5 perhaps). Nine of these curds could be crafted into a cheese block/block of cheese, which can be placed like blocks of dried kelp. Both curds and blocks of cheese may be used in food/potion recipes, but if there's a distinction between curds and blocks, I would expect that curds are used for crafting food & potions while blocks are more for building & storage utility.
I think cheese fits very well in the setting and aesthetics of Minecraft. The world is desolate. Many of the advanced technologies and civilizations seem to have disappeared. The most advanced food that the player can make seems to be cake, and if cake (and bread) can be made, cheese should definitely be possible. It's an ancient food along with bread, and thematically, it supports the journey of the player through its simplicity. It's a humble food like bread, and for a player that starts from extremely humble beginnings, relying on nature's bounty to survive, it deserves to have a place in Minecraft, especially with the arrival of goats - one of the original sources of milk that humanity harnessed. I may be lactose intolerant, but I'll fight the good fight for cheese.
Now that 1.17 adds goats i like the idea of cheese mainly a wheel of cheese, i was thinking on a kinda similar idea like this but with a couple modifications:
Obtaining:
- Taking milk from a goat and from a cow (both with empty buckets)
- On the crafting table with a recipe like TNT (replacing gunpowder with milk and sand with goat milk)
- That should give an uncured cheese wheel
- The cheese wheel can be placed on a low light environment to cure it (aging like copper)
Usage:
Additionally to the usages mentioned on the post:
- The cheese wheel when eaten gives a bigger saturation and more hunger points the more cured it is (minimum of 0.4 saturation and 2 hunger, to a maximum of 7 hunger and 5 saturation)
cheese blocks, MAKE CHEESE BLOCKS! you could add a dairy farmer villager and they would give you cheesecake, cheese, or plain milk!
In my opinion there is a strong case for cheese, because it is one of the most cottagecore foods there are! Imagine packing your bundle (once those are added) with bread, honey, an apple, milk, and a wheel of cheese. That has pastoral adventurer written all over it!
That also would give milk more of a food purpose as well.
I think that this is a great idea just I would add that if you leave cheese in a chest, then when you get it again it will become "funky cheese" and it will give you 10 seconds of poison.
If Cheese is added, i wouldn't want pizza or yogurt or any more "cheese products."
It would be cool if you could place it though, and eat it like a cake.
I think this a great idea, (except the fact that cheese cake isn't actually made out of cheese), so I want to add on. I think you should be able to make sandwiches, and you can add any type of meat to the sandwich, for example this crafting recipe:
Bread Bread Bread
Cheese Porkchop Cheese
Bread Bread Bread
And then that would be a Pork 'n' Cheese Sandwich, or maybe for less confusion, simply a meat and cheese sandwich, and depending on what meat you add, it restores more health points.
