UPDATE: With the new piglin mob being added during the development of Minecraft 1.16 I believe the player should be able to convert a zombie piglin to a normal piglin. The cured piglin will never attack you after being cured. This is a way that players can get a piglin that won't attack the player after breaking a block of gold, opening a chest, or just not wearing gold armor.
The pigmen are a long forgotten mob in Minecraft, but I think they should be re-added. In Minecraft when you use the method of curing zombie villagers on a zombie pigman, it should convert back to a normal pigman, and maybe have the behavior similar to villagers. They could also be given weapons to help defend players or villages. Their AI can also change depending on which item you give them. For example a pigman can use a crossbow for long-ranged attacks, a sword for short-range, and armor can be given to increase resistance against attacks. A player could also give them commands to follow him/her, and to attack another player, or mob.
This could also be very useful to map makers for creating custom NPCs. Because it has a model similar to players they could re-texture them to look like player characters. This idea has a lot of potential, and should fit well with the theme of the new 1.14 update, or maybe even a the combat update.
