    Perhaps if a zombie pigman were hit by TNT, lightning, or a falling anvil, it would split the pigman into a pig and a zombie.

    Actually I think it'd be wonderful if there were hidden mobs you cannot encounter in the game, but must unlock.

    Living Pigman could be an example of this, you can only find Zombie Pigmen ingame, but you can cure the Zombie Pigmen similar to how you can cure Villager Zombies.

     

    Living Pigmen would have their own unique mechanics, perhaps they can be friendly guards for villages who will protect the villagers?

    This is not a good idea because it just seems like something that would fill a gap that either does not need to be filled, or could be better filled by something else.  Living pigmen would be like nether creepers - boring, bland, and uncreative.  Besides, absolutely nothing in the nether should be the least bit friendly.

    There could be the strat to turn your pet pig into a zombie pigman, then removing the zombie so you just have a pigman that would help you out or just do it's own thing

    I'd love to see little tribes of pigmen out in the overworld, maybe occasionally going to villages to trade for different resources. I just want the villagers to have some friends, because as of now, most of the other human-like creatures are out to get them. (Zombie pigmen are chill)

    Well, pigmen are being added in the form of Piglins, although I don't think any of us would want a ruthless mob that kills any player that's not wearing golden armor cured from his peaceful Zombie Pigman life.

    If you could cure a zombie piglin, maybe it would think you're attacking it and alert the horde, but when cured it could give better bartering deals

    I think there should be a way to change piglins back and forth between their zombie and normal forms, sort of like with villagers. I also think it is fascinating how the zombie version of piglins are more friendly than the normal ones. They should keep their unique differences, but I do like the potential the ability to change offers.

    I dont think there should be pigmen, but I do think zombie pigmen should be kept. Before the most recent snapshots, striking a pig with lightning would turn it into a zombie pigmen. I think this should still be the case, instead of it turning into a zombie piglin. This way, the zombie pigmen texture can be kept without impeding on the games consistency

    The process for curing them should be different. 

    You could use a golden carrot and a potion of strength on them for them to begin changing back into a Piglin. It could have a danger aspect where the zombie goes insane while it is being cured and attacks every mob it sees.

    Maybe there could be a reputation system. The more good you do for the Piglins, the more they like you. It could be like when you breed a fox multiple times it will eventually not fear you. 

     

    Doing things like giving the Piglins armor, giving them gold blocks or items other than a gold ingot, or curing them they will eventually grow to like you as a group. It has to happen through a system like how Villagers spread gossip.

     

    Piglins will spread gossip that you helped them and any Piglin that hears the gossip will like you. This gossip will only affect a specific player. They might like you, but they don't care about other players that haven't helped them. Not every piglin in the Nether will know you are friendly they have to specifically tell each other first.

     

    It could have different levels: 

     

    1 - They no longer attack you for not wearing Gold

     

    2 - They let you open bastion chests

     

    3 - They will attack any hostile mob they see attack you

     

    4 - There could be a system for you to convince them to follow you

     

    5 - They will attack mobs hostile to the player automatically so long as the player they like is near them. They will now also attack any player that attacks the player they like.

     

    I don't know how it can be done but I would be happy if the update took another 5 months to come out just so this system is added. There have been many mods that allow the player to raise an army of NPCs. It would be amazing if it was finally in the game.

    If zombified piglins aggro on piglins(happens sometimes) and kill them they should have a chance of turning into a zombified piglins depending on the difficulty

    The cured piglins should also have a higher chance of giving rare items while bartering

    What if you could cure normal zombies? would they just turn to normal humans? like your own species?

    Creo que estaría bien pues estar con piglins en el nether es muy díficil por los ghasts, hoglins o demás cosas tengo a un piglin zombificado en mi casa y quisiera curarlo

    Awesome! I also think that It would be cool if Piglins were "immunized" to the overworld and could survive there normally after being healed.

    William Miller I know your comment is old, but the nether has striders now, which are friendly. Just curious to see what you think of them, and the other nether update stuff too I suppose.

    I started survival world on superflat with no structures but starter chest. Currently I have no way to go to the nether but if it would to be possible to convert zombie piglin to regular piglin and trade for obsidian I could go to the nether. Thanks in advance :)

    I think so too. I had a piglin buddy that I bartered with for almost 4 months now, but unfortunately yesterday he accidentally went into my Nether Portal and became zombified. I was very sad to see him zombified and I searched thoroughly online to see how to cure him, but there was no answer, I think that you should be able to cure zombified piglins the same way you can cure zombie villagers, with a golden apple and a splash potion of weakness. However, in Minecraft dungeons, the piglin merchant drinks some kind of potion to stay safe from zombification, and so I think that Mojang should add a piglin safe potion or something. What do you guys think about curing zombified piglins?

    I think it should just be the cured Piglin (since technically Piglin’s and Pigmen are the same thing to an extent) but I think it be a good idea to cure it with a gold carrot instead of an apple, since it’s a pig creature in Minecraft after all, but in case it’s overpowered to an extent maybe it will turn on you if you attack another piglin or hit it by accident

    You should be able to cure a zombie piglin with a weakness potion and a golden carrot (since pigs are bred with carrots). Just like in the process to cure a zombie villager, the zombie piglin produces red particles and begins to shiver, however, being a neutral mob--- the zombie piglin turns into an aggressive state (like a sick animal). The mob will call to other zombie piglin nearby, and will try to attack the player itself, however it is weakened because of the potion. When the curation is complete, the piglin (like you said) will not be aggressive towards the player, even if the player isn't wearing gold armor, or even mining gold, or attacking other piglin. The cured piglin will only attack the player if the player attacks this piglin directly. A cured piglin does not turn back to a zombie piglin if in the Overworld, but has the same trading value. The cured piglin still hunts hoglins, loves to collect gold, and wearing flashy armor.
    I love this feedback idea...please add it to minecraft, Mojang!

    While it makes sense at first having mobs gated to certain environments [or for some lore reason], the plan kinda falls apart when it’s only one mob/ set of mobs that can’t do this when every other mob can exist everywhere else just fine… Piglins and Hoglins could still zombify in the overworld//the end unless certain requirements are met…
    These could be things like gold blocks/and armor slowing the effect (not permanent but at least they’re happy before… y’know)
    And maybe a full or even partially gold beacon (powered by the nether) would fully eliminate the effects (within its radius)
    This would preserve the usual events of zoglin parties in the overworld, but to those who know what they’re doing being able to fight off pillagers with there Piglin buddies.
    [also a clear setting for beacons, maybe tinted glass, k thanks]
    So yeah, please I need them for cool hardcore build…

    I have a zombified pigman named Jimmy as a pet and I would like to cure him so I can be able to trade with him, but commands to give them I do not agree with because at that point that's treating them like a dog. Different types of animals like dogs are made for following commands. Overall, I think this is a good idea and I would love to see this happen.

    Piglins in the overworld would be a lot easier than having a piglin pit in the nether, and a player preference system would add to the lore quite a bit.
