Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Wither Bones

Wither bones would be a new common drop for Wither skeletons. They'd look the same as regular skeleton bones, except black, and would completely replace them as a drop. Wither bones don't have much use to them. Instead, they're more useful broken down, like bones into bonemeal. This would create Wither dust, and you'd get 2 of them per bone. Wither dust has 2 uses. They can act as bonemeal when used on Nether warts, and can be brewed into a Potion of Decay. A Potion of Decay is a Wither effect potion. You can also make a 3x3 recipe to make a Wither block as storage.

    I think a better name is charred bones. Also maybe the bones could be used for a better bow

    Maybe the blocks could be used to summon the wither, as a replacement of soul sand.

    We really do need Potions of Decay to be craftable some way or another. The bonemeal effect on nether wart is also quite useful. I think it would be nice to be able to use wither bones for some kind of special tool or weapon as well.

    I think this is good. At the moment killing withers involves a ton of grinding. Giving the player a reward for killing each wither skele would make that grinding process a little more pleasant.

    I think maybe it should be considered that combining 9 wither bones makes a wither skull that way you get a feeling of progress as you grind for skulls. Each bone puts you one bit closer to the wither boss. As it is now you can kill 100 wither skeletons and get nothing useful, which really puts me off the idea. I only fight the wither boss in modded.

    I think the Wither Dust should work like Bonemeal but only for the trees in the Nether. If you use the Wither Dust in the Overworld on saplings or grass, the saplings would turn into dead bushes, Grass Blocks would turn into Dirt, Tallgrass simply dies (disappears) and around the block around which you have placed the Wither Dust, would be a short Wither effect.

    You could make wither bone meal from it for Netherplants,like the new trees or netherwarts

    It can also be used as a wool dye which can be used in tandem with the new wood types as a nether spawn replacement for beds and the faded black texture for wool/concrete/terra-cotta would be excellent

    @UnduGT I believe that idea would be amazing! My only thought about it, though, is through using it underwater will yield a similar result. Instead of a withering effect, however it would kill all plant life(sea grass and kelp) in a 5 by 5 area(could be circular). I feel that it would be very useful when taking out massive areas of sea grass you don't need. What do you think?

    The withered bonemeal variant could be used on the Warped and Crimson Nylium blocks to farm the fungus and roots.

    If they do add these, they should definitely add wither bone blocks. It would be very useful for building, as a smooth, but still textured black block.
    I like how you incorporated them into the creation of decay potions, but I don't think you need the wither dust. The wither bones can do what the wither dust would've done

    I like the idea but don't make the bonemeal from the wither bone work with the other plants because if you use it on the other it should kill it in stead of helping it.

    The bones could also be replaced by wither roses. It would make more sense, because they're a plant which makes it seem more brewable in my opinion, and they're already in the game. But I love that concept. Minecraft needs to add this in.

    Wither bones really should be craftable into withered bonemeal & it would be an upgrade of normal bonemeal. It would work on all plants instead of just Nether plants because there's no point for just growing Nether plants, & it also gives a bigger reward for those who grind a lot of wither skeletons instead of just making a skeleton or composter farm. Even if you did make a wither skeleton farm out of a Nether Fortress, that's a lot harder to do & the reward would be balanced. Withered bonemeal would instant grow crops & trees, plants like flowers & ferns would grow in a bigger radius, & bamboo, sugar cane, kelp, & nether vines would grow more per use.

    As a follow up on my comment (because I am lazy) I personally think soul sand makes sense in spawning a wither because the wither represents death and you cannot have death without souls

    I think something like this should happen. Wither bones turn into wither bone powder, I have two suggestions for wither bone powders. The first is that we can get the wither rose, the second is to grow the nether node. We can also make a wither bone block from the wither bone powders

    Wither dust could be an "anti-bonemeal" to stop plants from growing, creating variation in fields rather than a field of identical yellow stalks of wheat.

    Withered bonemeal also turns roses into wither roses.

    Also really, really love the comment that suggested withered bonemealing kills underwater plants like seagrass and kelp. What a useful idea! 

    Also like the suggestions for withering potions. I feel like every Minecraft effect should have a potion.
