Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Bioluminescent fungi

A new fungi found only below y level 30 or 40 specifically found in underground swamplands or mushroom isles, it emits light and it can be used similarly to the current sea cucumbers as a toggleable light source but can only be grown on bone blocks or mycelium. another Use for them is they can be fed to cows to turn them into thier mushroom variant. This would be a way players can convert cows between the mooshrooms and regular cows. I have a neutral mob idea related to this block but will post in the mob idea under “fungi snail” in the mob section.

    Brown mushrooms already glow faintly.

    The brown ones do but cannot be used as an effective light source, making a room mob proof.

    You never said that they needed to block mob spawning.

    Good point, i did mention that it would function like sea pickles but did not specify how, a toggleable light source. They could have a dark purple or blue texture to contrast the brown and red mushrooms already in game avoiding green since the pickles already are greeen. Orange and yellow could look too close to the current brown or red mushrooms or netherwart. The mushrooms could stack up to 4 in a single block space, like turtle eggs and pickles.
