So, if you have ever played Team Fortress 2, you know about the community made updates. These allow the community to add new stuff to the game that they want to see while still maintaining Valve's vision for the game. What if Minecraft had something similar? For example, I would LOVE to work on a desert themed update. This would give Minecraft more frequent updates, while taking a load off of the devs to take their time on what they want to work on, be it Minecraft or other games. Mojang would get the official say on what gets added, of course, but the bulk of development would be on a team of community members. 3D artists, texture makers, creative directors, 2D artists, and programmers would all come together to work on the projects. This would be very similar to modding projects, but for official updates.
