It really would be nice to have jukeboxes loop on their own, I really like listening to "mall" but I don't like having to go all the way back to the jukebox just to take it out and put it back in. This would allow for greater enjoyment of the game in my opinion

or better yet, someway to put multiple discs in a jukebox and have it loop through them all.

There's no way on java but on other editions use a hopper clock with dispensers.

In addition to being able to loop the song, it would be really great to also allow some play/pause functionality via redstone and maybe read out the progress of the played audio via a comparator. Right now, the comparator will output the ID of the disc inserted, which is not bad but also not really useful at the same time.

    My vision is the following:

    1) if the jukebox is not playing, powering it will cause the song to start playing if any disk is inserted
    2) a comparator outputs signal strength according to how far the song has progressed (0 at the beginning, 15 when it is finished)
note: with 1 and 2 combined, you can already implement looping (just trigger the jukebox when the output reaches 15)
    3) when the jukebox is playing a song, powering it will pause the track. the jukebox should remember where it left off and continue playing at that position, unless the disk is taken out.

This would allow for really good control over the music. Also, Jukeboxes should work with dispensers and hoppers to allow changing out discs automatically, but that is already proposed in another suggestion: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360028758251-Jukebox-hoppers-

Yea I think it would be amazing if you could trigger a song when you enter into your base or just to trigger songs in general

I think that records should just loop by default. After they added "pigstep", I've really wanted to listen to it on loop, but like you say, you need to go restart it manually every 3 minutes or so.
