Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Leaf drop stages and decay

When leaves become detached from a tree, they should not start to decay immediately.  There should be three stages:  Alive Leaves (green color, just regular leaves),  Dead Leaves (brown version of regular leaves), and then they should just disappear without dropping anything.  Leaf blocks should drop leaves (like kelp) and sticks.  Dead leaves should drop just sticks.  Leaf blocks should be craftable with four leaves, like a block of snow with snowballs.  Saplings should be craftable with two sticks and 5 leaves.  The recipe would look like a pickaxe, but with leaves instead of the material, and two leaves to either side of the center.

    Please no.  The fact that leaves naturally decay and drop their saplings is one of the things that makes chopping down trees a tolerable activity.  What you're proposing would mean that you need to break every leaf by hand if you want to get the maximum sapling drops from a tree and at minimum break enough to get the saplings back that you planted to get the tree.

    No, Thanks. you don't craft leafs or saplings in life. drops are just fine. shears get the leafs just fine.
