One thing with the idea of making a Luminescent Forest that comes into mind is add Lightning bugs or a block into the game that spawns in the Covered Dark Oak Forest. This would be a good feature to have more a use to the biome and make it look better.

I could build the word of Avatar with bioluminescent plants, this could be a great biome.

As it stands we’re limited on light emitting blocks we definately need more of these

Sounds like it would be good as a dark forest sub biome, imagine you're walking through the dark forest surrounded by the dark and gloomy, it's the witch's natrual habitat and suddenly you stumble upon the reverse of what you've been walking through, gives it a nice level of suspicion doesn't it...

Yeah we could just add this to roofed forests!

Now that berry bushes are being added, maybe a berry bush variant for this biome?

This would work well as a new dimension

I think this would be a fantastic idea, it could be a variant of a dark oak forest. A new mob could be fireflies!  With mushrooms growing on the wood blocks and leaves, possibly giving new recipes for fun potions. Not like avatar, where the trees literally light up, just mushrooms and glowing bugs.

This biome would be tremendous. Adding natural, plant-based light sources to the game will help people step away from "hiding" light sources in an attempt to make an area both safe and natural looking.

we should be able to catch the lighting bugs in jars or bottles and use them as lighting decoration like lanterns and their light can beam and be slightly neon green like in real life.

Sounds great, but also sounds ripped of of Sonic Forces

My post was too similar so I had to post here:

    Bioluminescent Forest

Filled with glowing fungus, clear-water lakes, and fluorescent trees, these forests can be found in large underground areas. But why would players want to travel here? Well, why do they want to travel anywhere? One reason is the scenery.

This biome is so awe-inspiring that any who stumble upon it when mining probably won't want to leave. The trees are giant with beautiful leaves weeping down from the branches. On the trunks of the trees you can find Foxfire Fungi - clusters of small green glowing mushrooms. The floor of the biome is made up of Alien Soil. On the floor of the forest, Ghost Mushrooms can be found. Hanging from the ceiling of the cave are glow worm threads.

Another reason to go here is to gather the various items of the peculiar forest. Foxfire fungi, obtainable with silk touch, can be used in brewing to make a potion of emitting light. Ghost Mushrooms can glow pink, orange, teal, or green and are good decorations for lighting. Fissured Concrete, crafted from bioluminescence, has cracks that emit light and can serve as a good path. Silk from cocoons can be used to craft parachutes.

Even without mobs, this forest sounds amazing, right? To make things better, here are some of my ideas for mobs of the forest:

    Crystal Fox

    Butterflies and Caterpillars

    Fireflies

    Jellyfish

    Bright Tree Villagers

    Tree Golem

I would only ever live in these biomes! That would be so great! I love everything that's glowing and luminescent! Maybe there could be different (random) colour variants? Like a blue forest, a golden-yellow one, a blue one, an aqua one and so on.

I would also like the idea of the plants being so special that if you try to mine them, all you get is 'dead foliage' or something to avoid the issue of having to add 1000 different coloured leaves. The forest is only alive and beautiful if it's left intact - that would give it a magical aura too.

Maybe there would be a new light source to be found, something like 'glow balls' (imagine floating light bulbs) and they're the seeds of glow flowers (which would die if you pluck them) but the glow balls can be collected and used in builds.

Also the trees ('chromatic birch') would have a new wood type. For example an olive colour (since we do not have one yet), kinda on the birchy side but more olive so it's usable too. Or a grey wood colour ('weathered chromatic birch'). This happens if the wood is 'treated' with a specific lacquer that is specially crafted. The chromatic birch leaves would be randomly coloured, hence the name, and essentially non-harvestable - you can basically only get 'dead foliage' (like with corals). The chromatic birch seeds can be harvested and planted wherever, though.

It would generate at the border of a mushroom island and any other forest.

This should be pretty rare, like mushroom island rare.

There's a lot of possibilities for how this could go and I love it! Purple leaves, ponds, glowing flowers, a possibility for the Moobloom to appear, a cool place to spawn the Glow Squid and Allays... I love this idea!

I could imagine variants of already existing mobs roaming these forests, like rabbits and wolves with luminescent mushrooms growing on them, with glowing eyes to add a factor of creepiness, sort of like the mooshroom but possibly more hostile. Just an idea 😁

A horse with a glowing mane would be an awesome mod for a biome like this giving it was spaced out enough. Along with glowing grass, flowers, and the berry idea someone had

Maybe in addition to luminous mushrooms, there will also be luminous flowers?

We need more enchanted stuff in the game, too much real life stuff, we need something that's feels like it came from a fantasy game or a fictional world like in fairytales and such, like an enchanted forest with glowing plants and such, glowing mushrooms and mooshrooms to go along with it, but there's some semblance of this in real life so it's not really out of questions, it's just whenever Mojang would come around in do the is the thing and if it gets enough attention to do some, especially if there's another biome focused update or another biome vote, so yeah
