Wetstone is an ore found in underwater caves (recently added in update 1.13.) Wetstone is a variant of redstone, but unlike redstone, it can be waterlogged (waterlogged is just a fancy word that means Mojang fixed where if you put a block underwater that did not take up a full block then it would make a pocket of air, so now it will just be water. This also means that many blocks that could be used as a way to breath underwater without using a Water Breathing potions are now unusable in that manner) and can be used underwater, but will break (just like redstone with water) instantly if it is placed with air surrounding it.
Wetstone will appear a deep purple, and can also only be mined with a gold pickaxe (this will give some use to make a gold pickaxe, and, no you can not mine it with a diamond, wood, iron, nor stone just gold)
if you mine Wetstone ore on your gold pickaxe then you will (just like any other ore) get Wetstone ore, which can be smelted into Wetstone dust (or just placed and then mined with an un-enchanted gold pickaxe; some other items that can be added including:
- Wetsone block (like redstone block)
- Wetstone dust (obtained by mining Wetstone ore without a Silk Touch enchantment on the gold pickaxe)
- Wetstone torches (like redstone torches)
- Wetstone Comparators (like redstone comparators)
- Wetstone repeaters (like redstone repeaters)
Mojang, do you like it? Let them know about Wetsone by up-voting this! If I was a Minecraft developer then this is what I would add.
