You should take damage if you fall into water

    While I agree that this would make sense if the mechanic had been in the game from day one, I disagree that they should change it.  It is an established mechanic and a very useful one.

    It is not as overpowered as it used to be, either.  At least in my experience.  My water based drop chutes went from me taking no damage to me dying if I only had one block of water to fall through at the end a few months back. (in bedrock, which is what I play)

    Fall damage is an important mechanic, but there also needs to be a way to reliably nullify it.  Water is that method in this game, even if jumping in water from a height is anything but safe.

    I remember in old versions of minecraft what you say now was in these versions but people didn't like it so they changed it . Sorry for my bad english

    Technicially you can fall from an infinate hight (Assuming you just tp yourself hundreds of thousands of blocks high) and fall and safely land in 1/8 of a block of water and be fine

    Minecraft doesn't need to mimic real life and I don't think anyone is going to try to jump into water because in Minecraft it negates fall damage. its a stupid reason to change something.
