Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Hi, can you explain what you're looking for this to do beyond cosmetic changes? Thanks, it will help us express your idea to the team in an actionable way.

    Wow! That's a super good idea !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a another Idea to Advance your Idea !!:

----> If the puddle generates on dirt, Course dirt or grass, it going to become a slush puddle

----> If the puddle generates on sand, it going to become a sandy puddle and the same at the red sand, only the Colour is different!

On other blocks its a normal puddle.

I hope that Idea is good too !!

thanks @Xxmaurice132xX thats a great idea, its just given me a tonne more inspiration. the only thing is that dirt and course dirt would have to turn into mud blocks. but grass and sand should probably become darker to indicate that its wet on the sides that are exposed. the reason why i chose grass path blocks for the puddles is because theyre 1 pixel lower than most blocks, which allows a thin layer of water to rest on top of it, without changing too much.

what about flooded farm land!!!! same as the puddles but on farmland, surrounding the crops.

That would look really cool. However, the water would need to collect on the ground, and not flood like a bucket. When it is raining, the player should not be able to jump as high as they would usually.

wow! i didnt even think of that! thanks, its a great idea. also, about the water build up, i was struggling to think of how to make it smooth. all i could think of was- first the block becomes darker and then the water builds up on top of the farmland/grass path. thing is, im not sure if it should go up the full pixel all at once, have an animation for a smooth transition, or have stages just like crops.

i dont want it to be too smooth though, cause it would loose the minecraft feel. so someone please help me decide, and im open to any suggestions so feel free to drop a comment below.

Puddles like this would provide another method for Redstone users to create weather detectors!

I think this idea is a very good one. This would be very cool to see in game, having puddles dry up after rain.

Who didn't love splashing in puddles growing up? Fireflies IRL love puddles, any standing water works fine but I think a proper puddle would be more hospitable to the little guys. I really want to see them "Everywhere" and this feels like the way to do it.
