Anyone thinking "but tridents are easy to obtain!" isn't playing Java. It took >270 kills of drowned with a Looting III sword before obtaining a single (badly damaged) trident on our server. Mending using prismarine shards seems like a solid idea. For that matter, it wouldn't be bad if ocean monuments contained loot chests either, they're incredibly difficult to beat in survival for really not much payoff. The gold blocks are ok, but now that gold is so easily obtainable in the Nether, the reward for clearing a temple is not worth the effort (it makes a neat base when cleared, but that's a lot of work with sponges to empty the water!)

Prismarine is purely cosmetic without this

TRIDENT CRAFTING!!! MIND BLOWN. I don’t have much experience with anything prismarine but repairing and crafting would be very cool

Honestly it is weird that it is not already in the game.

I believe it should be copper, I mean look at the color, and it conducts electricity using channeling.

You can repair tridents in an anvil. Although I know a lot of you are saying you could use prismarine shards but you get prismarine shards from the ocean temple and there are hundreds of blocks so it would make the trident over powered and make it so it never breaks which wouldn’t make sense.

I think Amethyst shards would work better, so the amethyst has more things you can do with it

I think you should be able to heal it with prismarine shards or quartz shards

i swear to god if u make tridents be repaired by prismarine shards, that will make them one of the most useful things in mc bc i just got trident w/ low durability and i didn't want to wait an eternity for a mending book from a librarian

    I agree that makes sense

I understand your concept and I agree with it, but I feel like the material needed to repair the trident needs to be something rarer. Prismarine shards and crystals can be farmed, so maybe instead it should be a new drop from elder guardians since there are only three of them per ocean monument you find.

If it's only a shard or crystal, it could only repair maybe 10 - 15 durability.

or you could repair them with nautilus shells

I like that idea but instead of prismarine shards or crystals, could be where you need to craft something using prismarine shards and crystals to be able to repair the tridents.Or you can make it so were you need 1 Echo Shards and 4 prismarine shards to craft a trident shard (the echo shard being in the middle and the prismarine shards being around it) that is used to repair a trident.

Tridents have the same attack damage then a Netherite sword with no enchantment. So, it's a good wepon, but rare, and low durability when you find them.

I thought it was prismarine and was confused when it rejected me! I went to an ocean monument for this!!

Think would be very useful in game since prismarine shards are useless, but this make trident too less rare too
