Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Sure.  It should be like sugar cane, growing to be quite tall, but should be denser, allowing hostile mobs to roam freely through it during the day without burning.  Unlike sugar cane, it should be plantable far from water, but should grow more quickly near water.  Each block should drop one corn cob.

Butter would also be nice, but isn’t that important.

I disagree with part about butter, but corn would be a great addition to the game.

You should make it so that the corn has the same functions as Sweet Berries.

Corn would be nice to have in an update because I have some ideas for corn:

    Blue Corn

    Red Corn

    White Corn

    Popcorn

    Butter Popcorn

    Colored Popcorn

    Blue Corn Bread

    Red Corn Bread

    White Corn Bread

    Rainbow Colored Popcorn

    Corn Chowder

Corn Husks to feed the Cattle, Horses and Sheep.

Corn Stalks to use as an alternative fuel source for the furnace or as animal feed

Corn Husk Block to either feed the animals or use for fuel

Corn Stalk Block to use to feed the animals or use for fuel

    Scarecrows

I think this update could be improved by making corn plants like bamboo, which can make really cool corn mazes without having players cheat as the plant is a solid pole like glass panes. There should be only one type of corn as to not overdo the entire update. Corn can be farmed and cooked to be eaten. I also like Bilbo Baggins idea of having mobs that are directly next to the plant to not burn up and being plantable away from water

One kind of corn should be enough.

Fresh corn can be eaten, or fed to chickens or pigs.

It can be roasted on a campfire, furnace, or smoker and eaten alone.

    One can also make:

Corn chowder: (bowl, corn, milk, optional other vegetables, optional chicken or fish)

Corn salad: (bowl, corn, other vegetables)

Use stone slab to make a grindstone (new block! It could be a new jobsite block for a miller). Then with cornmeal you can make:

Spoonbread: (cornmeal, milk, lots of eggs, sugar; cook in campfire, furnace, or smoker)

Cornbread: (cornmeal, wheatmeal, milk, egg, sugar--like other cakes, paradoxically don't cook)

Corn porridge (bowl, ground corn, milk or water)

Tamale: (any kind of edible leaf, ground corn, miscellaneous sweet or savory fillings: bake in campfire, furnace, or smoker) [yes I know the masa is treated differently, but Minecraft food is simplified]

    and probably many other things....

BTW, if you want butter you need to make a wooden butter churn, and then you can put milk into the butter churn. You must churn it as long as mining the most difficult block on your difficulty setting. When complete you will have butter and buttermilk, which you may add to recipes. Buttermilk makes things tender and fluffy. You can also drink the buttermilk directly.

It would be logical considering the fact that cornflowers are in the game.

Corn kernels should be found randomly when breaking tall grass in a savanna biome or can be found already planted in a savanna village. I want the height to be 2.5 just so we can use it to make corn field mazes.

Corn can be harvested when the crop has matured, it can be crafted into 5 kernels that can be replanted, corn crops will drop their kernels when broken at an immature stage.

Corn can also be fed to llamas which can turn their spit into yellow kernels, this will give them a higher fire rate for a period of time.

When a corn crop catches fire, it should spew little projectiles of popcorn that deal very little damage every second to an entity.

When a player dies from popcorn, the death screen should be. "Player popped away from existence".

I like Bilbo Baggins adaptation to this idea, however I would like to add the ability to shuck corn and use corn silk for something such as string, paper, or a new item.

Also corn should be craftable into kernels.

This could be an opportunity to add pesky crows (that eat your crops) and a new golem (the scarecrow)

Corn is a very versatile and basic food source, visually speaking a corn field would be a great thing to see in Minecraft. It could be easily cooked into sweet corn or roasted corn and adding just a few of the posibilities (corn bread, popcorn, ...) would be also great.

Maybe not goat milk but cow milk for butter and maybe having a salt item to make it (salted butter). You know, like sugar but a different color and use 9 to make a salt block. I think this would be an awesome idea!

There should also be corn mazes that mobs could hide in to make the game more fun and challenging!

Well obviously it needs to grow like wheat, since the two are related grains. Also a two block tall crop would be useful for decorative purposes, and corn was first domesticated a pretty long time ago, 10,000 years or something?

Adding to the idea of Corn Mazes, I don't think it should be a completely solid block or intangible block. Instead, you should be able to walk through it but it slows you down, making it much easier to go around it than through it

I love Kaija's idea for a grindstone and a churn. The grindstone could be used to get flour.

Churns could be made with a barrel and a stick. I like that they can turn milk into buttermilk and then that into butter. Maybe even into icecream?

Corn Kernels could come in a pile like other seeds, but I also like the idea of them being singular kernels. When cooked in a furnace, they will turn into a singular popcorn, which doesn't give much food points. Not every kernal would give you popcorn, meaning you may end up with less items than you put in

When smelted in a furnace, corn should become popcorn. Popcorn would heal around 3-4 shanks instead of just the 2-3 that regular corn would heal. Maybe you could put sugar on the popcorn too to make kettle corn.

It is quite surprising that this is not in the game yet, considering how commonly produced in real life it is.

it could be like sweet berries, where when you harvest it you can just right click it without breaking the crop, I feel like that function is highly underused and should be included in more crops
